Who am I?

From a young age, I was drawn to computers and the internet to quench my thirst for knowledge and intellectual stimulation.

I'm passionate about open-source software and digital privacy. I use NixOS as my daily driver and have de-Googled and de-algorithmed my life as much as I've found useful.

In my spare time, I love to tinker and build projects with my 3D printer and a bit of solder. I'm also a music enthusiast and play guitar.

Choosing not to choose

After high school, two careers appealed to me: development or industry. I pursued the latter, gaining several years of field experience in quality assurance and lean management. In both internal roles and for corporate clients, I have always put my affinity with computers at the service of operational excellence.

My favorite part was collaborating with people to clarify their needs and implement the best technical solutions. The week spent building a tool becomes instantly worthwhile when someone says, "That's so much easier than before!".

However, after pushing Excel and other end-user development tools to their limits, I began to feel constrained by them, even when they weren't the best long-term solution. I wanted to provide even better support. That's why I needed to increase my technical skill.

I attended a development bootcamp where I learned computer science fundamentals through modern full-stack web development. For 9 intensive weeks, I collaborated on projects with peers and fell in love with the command line and Linux. Now, with my formalized byte-bending degree, I'm more confident than ever in my ability to help teams derive meaningful insights from their work.
